Professional water-cooled wax foundation press – for Deutsch Normal and Zander

With this water-cooled wax foundation press, high-quality beeswax beeswax foundation sheets can be produced quickly, evenly and in the desired final size. The press is suitable for beekeepers who process their own wax and value high output, a clean comb pattern and as little finishing work as possible.

Available in two versions:

• Deutsch Normal: 350 × 200 mm
• Zander: 395 × 195 mm

The cell size is 5.4 mm. Due to the manufacturing process, deviations in cell size of up to 2 % are possible.

High output thanks to water cooling

The integrated water cooling rapidly cools the cast beeswax foundation, allowing it to be removed from the press after a short time.

With a well-practised workflow, up to approx. 60 beeswax foundation sheets per hour are possible.

Water consumption remains comparatively low at around 30 litres per hour.

There are two options for cooling:

Direct water connection:
The cooling system is connected to a water line and operated with a small, continuous flow of water.

Cooling circuit:
Alternatively, the cooling water can be circulated using a suitable aquarium pump and silicone hose.

An aquarium pump and additional silicone hose for a closed cooling circuit are not included in the scope of delivery.

beeswax foundation sheets directly in the correct size

A particular advantage of this press is the casting area, which is already matched to the respective frame size.

The beeswax foundation sheets are produced directly in the intended size:

Deutsch Normal: 350 × 200 mm
Zander: 395 × 195 mm

This generally eliminates the time-consuming trimming of large foundation sheets.

No conventional release agent required

For the actual casting surface, no solvent or conventional release agent is required. After cooling, the beeswax foundation sheets can be removed cleanly from the press and are then dry and ready for further processing.

For certain metal areas of the press, a thin honey-water solution can occasionally be used. A suitable brush is already included in the scope of delivery.

Uniform comb pattern with 5.4 mm cell size

The precisely formed matrices create an even comb embossing on both sides of the beeswax foundation.

The cell size of 5.4 mm corresponds to a widely used standard in beekeeping and is suitable for producing classic beeswax foundation sheets from your own beeswax.

Easy to use

Liquid beeswax is poured onto the lower half of the press using the supplied stainless steel ladle. The press is then closed.

Thanks to the water cooling, the wax solidifies quickly. The press can then be opened and the finished beeswax foundation removed.

Any excess wax can be removed with the included wax scraper and melted down again.

Cooling

The wax foundation casting mould can either be operated:

• directly with a low water flow from the mains water supply, or
• via a closed water circuit with an aquarium pump.
