How does formic acid work against Varroa mites?
Formic acid acts like an “acid attack” on the Varroa mite: it penetrates their respiratory system, disrupts the metabolism and reliably kills the mites. The reproduction of the mites is also inhibited. The correct dosage is crucial, because too high concentrations can also put a strain on the bees.
