The entrance hole pollen trap is attached directly to the entrance to the beehive. When a bee wants to fly into the hive, it has to crawl through a narrow, circular opening in the pollen grid. In the process she loses her pollen panties, which then fall into the collecting container below. This is well ventilated so that the fresh pollen stays dry and does not spoil.

A big advantage of the entrance hole pollen trap over floor-mounted versions is how easy it is to use. It can be quickly assembled or removed without opening or modifying the pole. Ideal for beekeepers who want to collect pollen regularly.

Through the lateral velutina protection the entrance hole is additionally shielded. The Asian hornet often attacks bees from the side of the hive when they slow down in their approach. With this construction, the bees can fly in safely and are protected when crawling in.

The pollen trap can remain on the prey all year round. If no pollen is to be collected, it is sufficient to remove the collection container and open the passage. This means the bees can fly in and out unhindered. There is no regulation of the collection quantity - the trap can only be used between “On” (active) and “Off” (inactive) be switched.
